As we go about our lives, we are suddenly stopped in our tracks by what else is going on in the world! A few days ago, a young friend told me about how she’s helping an organization in Cameroon, a country in Africa, with a project to raise the start up costs for a ‘Moringa Tree Cultivation Project’ there. The purpose of the cultivation is to create a sustainable source of income, food, and medicine for an entire community.
She sent me a link with all the details, and I was truly impressed… So, I did some research and found that the Moringa tree is indeed one of nature’s miracles — all its parts are used for nutritional and medicinal purposes. I loved how one of the scientists in the video I’m posting has called it, “such a generous tree!” This is the link to that very interesting video:

The project my young friend is supporting is being run by RUDEC (Rural Development Centre Association Cameroon, who enlisted the help of a group of volunteers registered with the United Nations Online Volunteering program. They were selected by RUDEC to help develop an income generating project for a small group of women within the Belo Community, in Cameroon. Their research has shown that the cultivation of the fast growing Moringa tree is a sustainable, low cost and high impact activity that can quickly benefit a community…
I say, more power to anyone who uses their time and energy for the benefit of humanity! For those of us who can’t help with time may consider donating what we can — I’m sure they’ll welcome whatever they can have!
